Baby Check-ups at the PMI in France
Take your baby for a check-up at the PMI or the paediatrician: weight, vaccines, sleep and feeding questions.
In France, free child health check-ups are done at the PMI (Protection maternelle et infantile) centre run by the département, or by a paediatrician or GP. There are 20 compulsory check-ups between birth and age 16, and every visit is recorded in the « carnet de santé », the child's health booklet you bring each time. Eleven vaccines are compulsory for children born since 2018 and are needed to start crèche or school.
