The Road to French Citizenship

Naturalisation in France usually requires five years of regular residence (less after studies in France), and the application is now made online on the government's ANEF platform, with a 55 € tax stamp. You must prove your French level with a recognised diploma or test, provide civil-status documents with sworn translations, and attend an assimilation interview at the préfecture on your life in France and the values of the Republic. If accepted, your name appears in a decree in the Journal officiel and you are invited to a welcome ceremony; France allows dual nationality, but check your other country's rules.
