New Glasses at a French Optician

Explain what you can't see, take a quick eye test and pick frames that your insurance actually pays for.

Getting an appointment with an ophtalmologiste in France can take weeks or months, so many people renew their glasses directly at an opticien with a recent prescription, and opticians can also check your eyesight in the shop. Under the 100% Santé scheme every optician must offer a range of frames and lenses with nothing left to pay once the Assurance Maladie and your mutuelle have paid their share. Glasses and contact lenses are sold by opticians, not pharmacies.
