A Bike Fall and a Trip to French A&E
Get help after an accident, describe the injury at les urgences and understand the X-ray, cast and follow-up.
In France dial 15 for the SAMU (medical emergencies), 18 for the pompiers or 112 from any phone; the pompiers often come out for falls and road accidents. Many hospitals now ask you to call 15 first, outside life-threatening cases, so a doctor can direct you to the right place, and A&E waits can be long. You'll usually leave les urgences with an ordonnance: crutches, a splint or painkillers from the pharmacy, and often physio afterwards.
