Sending and Collecting Parcels in France
Post a parcel at La Poste, collect a missed delivery and pick up an order from a relay point.
La Poste delivers letters and Colissimo parcels; if you're out, the postman leaves an avis de passage and you collect the item at the post office with ID, usually from the next working day. Many online orders go to a point relais instead, a local shop or locker (Mondial Relay, Relais Colis, Pickup) where you show a code or QR code. For important letters to a landlord or an administration, the French use a lettre recommandée avec accusé de réception, which proves the date it was received.
