Sign your child up for the school canteen, ask about prices, allergies and menus, and talk about lunch with your child.
In French primary schools the canteen is run by the town hall (la mairie), not the school: you register on the town's online family portal, and the price per meal is usually set by your quotient familial, the income figure calculated by the CAF. Weekly menus are published online, and the law requires at least one vegetarian meal a week. A child with a food allergy needs a PAI (projet d'accueil individualisé) signed by the doctor, the family and the school.
