How Long Will It Take? Estimating in French
Give honest time estimates, flag unknowns and avoid over-promising in a French sprint planning.
French tech teams estimate work in jours (often half-days, une demi-journée) or in story points during sprint planning, usually run by the product owner, whom everyone calls the PO. People tutoient each other and hedge estimates with the conditional (je dirais) or casual phrases like à vue de nez. Saying ça va être juste warns that a deadline is tight, and livrer means to ship a feature.
