Baby Milestones in Spain

Ask the paediatric nurse about sitting, crawling, first words and sleep, and compare notes with other parents.

In Spain babies have regular free check-ups ('revisiones del niño sano') with the paediatric nurse at the centro de salud, who weighs and measures them, checks their percentile and gives the vaccines on the official calendar. Parents then swap milestone stories in the park, often comparing more than they should. The cards follow a parent at the eight-month check-up and later chatting with a friend at the playground.
