Plants on the Balcony in Spain
Simple phrases for buying plants, growing herbs and looking after a balcony in the Spanish heat.
Most people in Spanish cities live in a piso, so the balcón or terraza is their garden: pots of geraniums, herbs and maybe some tomatoes. Plants come from a vivero or the weekly market, and in summer the sun is so strong that watering is a daily job. Neighbours below don't love dripping water, so you water early or late. The cards follow setting up a balcony garden and asking a neighbour for help.
