Feeding a Baby in Spain
Talk to the paediatrician about starting solids, handle advice from family and buy formula at the pharmacy.
In Spain the paediatrician at the centro de salud guides 'alimentación complementaria' from about six months: one food at a time, no salt or sugar, and more and more often soft pieces instead of only purées. Grandparents tend to have strong opinions from their own time, and formula and baby cereals are typically bought at the farmacia. The cards follow a parent at the paediatrician, at home with the mother-in-law, at the pharmacy and a month later.
