Making and Keeping Friends in Spain
Make plans, catch up, support a friend and patch things up after a misunderstanding, Spain-style.
In Spain friendships are kept alive by "quedar": meeting up for a coffee, a tapa or a walk, often arranged last minute on WhatsApp. Plans are flexible and people are direct but affectionate. These cards follow a new friendship from a vague "we should meet up" to a real heart-to-heart.
