Ordering Food at a Restaurant in Spain
Get a table, order the menú del día, share some raciones and pay the bill like a local.
Spaniards eat lunch late, around 2 or 3 pm, and many restaurants offer a 'menú del día': a first course, a main, dessert or coffee and a drink for a fixed price. Waiters usually speak to you informally (tú, vosotros), you call them over with 'perdona', and the bill only comes when you ask for it. The cards follow two friends through a lunch at a Madrid restaurant.
