Renting a Flat in Spain
Call about a listing, view the flat, ask about the deposit and contract, and say yes before someone else does.
In Spanish cities you find a piso on portals like Idealista and deal with an inmobiliaria, usually on first-name terms. Expect to show payslips, pay a fianza plus extra guarantee, and ask whether the flat is exterior, since that decides your light. Under the current housing law the landlord, not the tenant, pays the agency fee. The cards follow one flat from the first call to agreeing a move-in date.
