Sewing and Clothing Repairs in Spain
Simple phrases for sewing on a button, fixing a hole and taking clothes to an alterations shop.
In Spain, small fixes are done at home with aguja e hilo, and anything bigger goes to a tienda de arreglos, a small alterations shop where you can get trousers shortened, a zip replaced or a hole patched for a few euros. You leave the clothes, they tell you when they'll be ready, and you pay when you pick them up. The cards follow a morning of mending with a flatmate and a visit to the alterations shop.
