A Guardia Civil traffic stop: the radar, your papers, the fine, the breathalyser and the points.
On Spanish roads speeding is caught by radar and Guardia Civil traffic patrols, who always address you as usted. Fines come with a 50% discount if paid within 20 days, serious cases cost licence points from a 12-point total, and a breathalyser check is routine. The cards follow one stop on the autovía and the call to a friend afterwards.
