Agreeing and Disagreeing, Politely

Swedish pushback is gentle — the phrases for both directions without causing offence.

How Swedes agree, half-agree, and disagree without raising their voices — in escalation order: the full agreements, the famous partials (jo men ändå, till viss del), the soft disagreements that do all the real work, the conversion moment (du har övertygat mig), and the peace treaty: vi får tycka olika, inga hårda känslor.
