Sentences from a Day by the Water

Simple spoken sentences with fishing vocabulary in place.

Two fishing days — one summer, one on the ice — with three generations in the boat: the 5 a.m. start, the throwbacks and the empty hours, the sensory rewards (kaffet smakar bättre här ute, man hör lommarna — det ljudet är sommar), the winter safety catechism (minst tio centimeter, gå aldrig ensam, ta med isdubbarna), and morfar's inherited wisdom: det är därför det heter fiske. Inte fångande.
