Lunch Habits

Dagens rätt, matlåda, lunchrast — Sweden eats lunch early and seriously.

Swedish lunch culture, the full anthropology: the 11:30 institution and dagens rätt (inklusive sallad, bröd och smör, lättdryck, kaffe — ett fast pris), the queue at tjugo i tolv, the matlåda economy (mikrokön, fisklukten på kontoret), the social architecture (äta tillsammans, samtal som inte handlar om jobbet, lunchen där man lär känna varandra), skollunchen as legal right, torsdag's ärtsoppa — ending with the three-o'clock coffee som alla behöver och alla tar. Vilket är ganska civiliserat.
